Wax & Flair candles are created with the finest ingredients and we place the highest value on quality, design and hand craftsmanship. We recommend the following care to ensure the longevity of your Wax & Flair candle.
SAFETY FIRST
- Failure to follow instructions could result in fire, hazard or injury.
- Keep out of reach of pets and children.
- Only burn candle on a level, fire resistant surface.
- Never burn candle on or near anything that can catch fire.
- The wick in this candle is made from wood and produces a larger flame than a cotton wick.
- Avoid exposure to drafts.
- Never move a burning candle or leave a lit candle unattended.
- Container may become hot.
- At the end of combustion, a variable quantity of wax may remain.
- Always store candle in a cool dry place below 25°c and away from direct sunlight.
BURNING INSTRUCTIONS
- If burnt properly, your candle will last over 60 hours.
- Trim wick to 5mm before lighting.
- Wax has ‘memory’ so it will follow the first burn so make sure not to extinguish the candle until the whole surface has melted. Your first burn should take approximately 4 hours for the wax to melt its way to the sides of the jar. At this point blowout your candle and completely let it reset before burning again. Each time you burn your candle, burn to the very edge of the glass so that your candle doesn’t tunnel.
- Keep candle free of any foreign materials including matches and wick trimmings.
- Never burn the candle for less than 1 hour at a time. Do not burn candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Wooden wicks need to be surrounded by the wax to keep alight. Make sure wick is trimmed.
- Discontinue burning when 1cm or less of wax remains.
- Recycle your beautiful ceramic vessel after use.
CRYSTAL CARE
- The crystals can safely remain inside the candle while it is burning. The wax will cover the crystals after the first burn. They will reappear once the candle is lit and the wax liquefies.
- If you are removing the crystals once the candle is nearing its end life, be sure to extinguish the flame first and then use tweezers to carefully remove the crystals. This works best when the wax is still liquid. Run the crystal under warm water to remove any excess wax and dry with a cloth.
